Hope Windwalker for KCD2
Showcase · Supervised playtest pending
A reversible experiment bringing grounded acceleration, skiing, and controlled airborne movement to Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.
My role
I defined the desired movement feel and used hands-on observations to direct AI-assisted investigation and iteration. The work separates earlier retail evidence from the newer full-movement candidate.
Preventing stuck movement
The input adapter uses press, release, and hold heartbeats. It checks game context and expires stale input so a swallowed release during a menu or scripted event does not become permanent movement.
Explicit control and recovery
The experiment starts off. A deliberate command enables it; another command clears its owned input and returns control to KCD2. Unknown or unsafe situations are designed to yield to the game.
Separate old proof from a new release
Earlier retail traces showed guarded velocity writes and release handoff. Those observations informed v0.2.0, but they do not prove that every new movement mode in v0.2.0 is ready.
What has been checked
The readiness notes document offline physics, input-lease, ownership, XML parity, and deterministic-package checks. The full v0.2.0 retail acceptance run is still required.
Next release step
Test loading, remapped input, each movement mode, menus, dialogue, mounts, OFF, and reload on a disposable test save before enabling downloads.
Relevant to an IT role

- Compatibility checks
- Safe defaults
- Test and rollback planning
These are personal, AI-assisted projects. They demonstrate how I approach problems and review results, not professional employment or sole authorship of all the code.
